About Simulator

The simulator helps the trainee in terms of familiarizing himself / herself with the controls of the car before actually taking the car on road. Secondly the machine simulates a variety of conditions such as night driving, hill driving, road and light conditions. Simulators
- Create Virtual reality situations
- Are a fully interactive system
- Can simulate a variety of circumstances (rain, fog, night, variable traffic density)
- Enhance judgment, decision-making and improves operational skills
The simulator was introduced to give Maruti Suzuki a unique market leading product that no one else could offer, and to provide an advanced learning tool for the customer. It is however, not a replacement for conventional lessons. The novice program allows the new learner to gain a measure of knowledge, skill and confidence that they would otherwise not have before learning to drive on the actual vehicle. Just as a preschool improves a child’s school performance, a good pre -driving training improves a learner’s performance. The advantage is that the learner starts at a much higher level of knowledge about handling the vehicle with the risk of being involved in any crash substantially reduced. On the one hand, the simulator is used to train novices, by creating a variety of virtual reality situations such as rain, fog, night, rough roads, steep ascent etc. While on the other, it is a good tool to evaluate a person’s skill in driving and reaction to risk.
The modules and exercises are updated & upgraded from time to time. The scenarios and traffic is a replica of what one gets to see on Indian roads.
The heterogeneity of traffic is brought in by pedestrians, autorickshaws, buses, cars etc.
